Huge Pokémon TCG Pocket User Drop Revealed in Financial Report

Pokémon TCG Pocket has experienced a significant decline in its player base, according to DeNA’s Q1 2026 financial report. The mobile card-collecting game, which launched in October 2024, averaged 23 million monthly active users between April and June 2026—a sharp drop from 39 million during the same period in 2025, representing a 41% decline year-over-year.

The player exodus has directly impacted DeNA’s financial performance, with the company reporting notable decreases in both revenue and profit. The mobile title, which was initially successful following its launch, has seen its popularity steadily decline despite regular monthly content updates introducing new card sets.

However, the rate of decline appears to be slowing. DeNA reported 24 million monthly active users in the previous quarter (Q4 2025), suggesting the game lost approximately one million players between Q4 2025 and Q1 2026—a more moderate loss compared to the dramatic year-over-year drop. This suggests the player base may be stabilizing at a new level after the sharp initial decline.
