Tripledot Studios acquires Supersonic from Unity for $40m

Tripledot Studios has acquired mobile publisher Supersonic from Unity for $40 million, marking another consolidation move in the mobile gaming market. Supersonic, which became part of Unity in 2022 through an all-stock merger with ad network IronSource valued at $4.4 billion, will now operate as a standalone entity under the Tripledot Group umbrella.

The acquisition follows Unity’s decision to shut down its IronSource network and divest from Supersonic earlier this year, reflecting shifting priorities at Unity amid broader restructuring in the mobile advertising and publishing landscape. Despite the change in ownership, Supersonic will maintain operational independence and continue to be led by its existing management team from its Tel Aviv headquarters.

For Supersonic, joining Tripledot provides access to a company built specifically around scaled game publishing, offering capital, technology infrastructure, and user acquisition expertise. The publisher will benefit from deeper integration with Tripledot’s publishing capabilities while preserving the operational autonomy that has characterized its operations.

The deal underscores ongoing consolidation in mobile gaming, where larger players acquire specialized publishers and platforms to strengthen market position and capabilities. With this acquisition, Tripledot expands its mobile publishing portfolio and reinforces its presence in a sector that remains central to the broader gaming industry despite ongoing challenges in ad-supported mobile gaming models.
