“Credible military storytelling”: Ubisoft announce playtests for new Ghost Recon game alongside a sizeable Wildlands update and a Future Soldier giveaway

Ubisoft has announced the development of a new mainline Ghost Recon game as part of the tactical shooter franchise’s 25th anniversary celebrations. According to live producer Irina-Gabriela Popa, the upcoming title will be ‘a fun, fresh experience that stays true to everything that defines Ghost Recon’ – emphasizing tactical action, large-scale operations, credible military storytelling, and the elite Ghost Unit.

The publisher plans to conduct closed playtests through a newly established insider program, enabling selected players to experience and provide feedback on the game ahead of its official launch. Alongside the announcement of the new entry, Ubisoft is actively supporting the existing Ghost Recon community. Ghost Recon Wildlands is receiving a significant update, while Ghost Recon Future Soldier is being offered as a free giveaway. These complementary initiatives are designed to strengthen community engagement and celebrate the franchise’s landmark 25th anniversary.
