Marvel Tokon PC Launch Is So Bad That Famed FGC Content Creator Maximilian Dood Uninstalled the Game on Stream

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ PC launch has been severely hampered by significant technical performance issues that have prompted even prominent fighting game community (FGC) content creators to abandon the game. The 4v4 superhero tag fighter’s Windows port suffers from widespread stutters and frame drops that make gameplay borderline unplayable for many players.

The troubled launch came to public attention when renowned FGC content creator Maximilian Dood (Maximilian Christiansen) uninstalled the game during a livestream on August 7, after just two days of play. Calling the PC port “really s***, Dood’s on-camera uninstall sent clear warning signals to publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Arc System Works that the port needs immediate attention.

The technical problems are clearly resonating across the broader player base. Marvel Tokon currently holds a dismal 40% approval rating on Steam, with the vast majority of negative reviews citing performance problems as the primary complaint. Frustration has driven players to attempt increasingly unconventional workarounds, some bordering on the absurd. Most notably, some players have reportedly taken to running Epic Games Store in the background while playing on Steam, a particularly unusual suggestion given that Marvel Tokon uses Unreal Engine 5.

The situation represents a significant launch failure for what should have been a high-profile AAA fighting game release, with technical shortcomings overshadowing what may be solid game design from Arc System Works.
