Genki’s New Controller Is Chunky, Boasts Haptic Feedback, And Its Own Screen
Genki, an accessory manufacturer, has announced the Manta, a premium controller featuring an integrated 2.79-inch display and dedicated operating system. The built-in screen allows users to customize every aspect of the controller directly on the device—switching profiles, remapping buttons, adjusting controls, editing macros, and managing wireless connections—without requiring a separate companion app or desktop software.
The Manta is equipped with advanced gaming features including haptic feedback technology and wired polling rates up to 8,000Hz (1,000Hz wireless), targeting competitive gamers seeking responsive input. The controller also includes a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature becoming increasingly rare on modern gaming peripherals. The device features 3-axis gyro controls, which some may consider a limitation compared to contemporary alternatives.
The accessory’s substantial size and comprehensive feature set position it as a premium offering in the controller market. Genki plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign to bring the Manta to market, though specific availability details and pricing remain unannounced.
