Valve has added ‘initial’ SteamOS gamepad support for several new gaming handhelds, including the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+

Valve has released SteamOS 3.8.25 Beta with “initial gamepad support” for several third-party gaming handhelds, marking the company’s continued effort to expand its operating system beyond the Steam Deck. The update adds compatibility for the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, Ayaneo Pocket S2, and the newly-launched Konkr Fit.

The Ayaneo Pocket S2 is an Android-powered handheld that launched in June 2024 and runs on Snapdragon processors. The Konkr Fit, released under Ayaneo’s Konkr sub-brand, is a Windows-based handheld available in two configurations: one with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 and another with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. The device features TMR joysticks and Hall effect triggers for enhanced input control.

Beyond gamepad support additions, the SteamOS 3.8.25 Beta release also includes various bug fixes as part of Valve’s ongoing maintenance of the platform. This expansion of gamepad compatibility demonstrates Valve’s commitment to supporting a growing ecosystem of third-party handheld gaming devices.
