Venmo payments now available on Google Play

Venmo is now available as a payment option on Google Play, providing Android users with an additional way to purchase apps, games, and digital content on Google’s app marketplace. The integration allows users to link their Venmo account—either using their Venmo balance or a connected payment method—directly to Google Play for making purchases including in-game transactions, managing subscriptions, and tipping content creators.

To enable the feature, users simply add Venmo as a payment method through the Google Play Store’s payment settings. Google and Venmo are positioning this integration as an extension of Venmo’s existing “secure, fast and social” payment experience to the Play Store ecosystem. The partnership aims to streamline the checkout process for Android users by offering a familiar payment method that many already use regularly.

This expansion comes as Google Play continues to evolve its monetization infrastructure following the recent implementation of a restructured fee framework for the platform. The Venmo integration represents another step in expanding payment options available to Android users, giving consumers greater flexibility in how they fund their digital purchases on one of the world’s largest app distribution platforms.
