Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes Still in Development and Being Published by Rockstar Games

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remain in active development with Rockstar Games as publisher, according to the studio’s latest financial report. However, the studio has limited what it can publicly discuss about the projects, citing agreements with Rockstar.

The original Max Payne games maintain a dedicated cult following years after their release, with fans consistently requesting official remakes. While the first two entries were developed by Remedy Entertainment, the franchise continued with Max Payne 3, which was developed by Rockstar Games itself.

The financial report addressed shareholder and public questions about the remake projects but provided few additional details beyond confirming their ongoing status. Remedy Entertainment is known for its strong portfolio of intellectual properties, including Alan Wake and Control alongside the Max Payne franchise. The studio’s restraint in discussing the remakes suggests Rockstar Games maintains tight control over project information.

This marks another modest update on the long-anticipated remakes, as the gaming community awaits more substantial announcements about gameplay, platforms, and release timelines.
