SciPlay Games Israel has cut 20 jobs, says report
SciPlay Games has laid off approximately 20 employees from its Israeli development studio, representing roughly 7% of the facility’s workforce of around 300 people. The Ramat Gan-based studio, which accounts for approximately one-third of SciPlay’s global headcount, develops free-to-play social casino games for parent company Light & Wonder.
The Israeli hub is responsible for several of SciPlay’s major revenue-generating titles, including Quick Hit Slots, 88 Fortunes, and Hot Shot Casino. These games operate under licensed Las Vegas casino brands and represent a significant portion of the company’s portfolio. The development team at the studio encompasses the full range of game development disciplines, including engineering, product management, data analysis, user interface and experience design, and marketing.
The layoffs mark the second round of job cuts at SciPlay in recent months. In June, the company announced it was eliminating “a limited number of roles” as part of a strategic review, though specific numbers were not disclosed at that time. The latest cuts suggest continued restructuring efforts as the company navigates current market conditions.
