Andy Weir’s New Time Travel Thriller Launches in Just Three Months
Bestselling science fiction author Andy Weir is expanding into audio fiction as executive producer on Exoplanet, an Audible Original launching November 5. The full-cast immersive audio production is written by Benjamin Percy, author of The Ninth Metal and Red Moon, and stars Anthony Mackie, Ariana DeBose, and John Leguizamo.
The thriller follows a starship crew torn apart by a quantum anomaly, stranding them on the same planet but separated across different time periods. Cut off from direct contact, the crew members must find ways to communicate and assist one another despite their temporal isolation. Their survival is complicated by an alien intelligence actively hunting them, apparently seeking to acquire human technology.
Weir’s involvement reflects his continued expansion into multimedia storytelling, following the successful film adaptations of The Martian and Project Hail Mary. The casting of A-list talent including Mackie, DeBose, and Leguizamo underscores Audible’s growing investment in prestige audio original content, positioning Exoplanet as a flagship entry in its entertainment slate.
