Phasmophobia Studio Launches A Publishing Label With These Five Exciting Games
Kinetic Games, the developer behind the popular co-op horror game Phasmophobia, has announced its expansion into game publishing with the launch of Kinetic Publishing. The new indie publisher label unveiled its first games showcase, revealing a diverse slate of five ambitious titles scheduled for release in 2027 and 2028.
The publishing lineup demonstrates broad ambitions across multiple genres. The most notable announcement is Sam Barlow’s next project, Precognition (previously known as “Project C”), marking a significant get for the new publisher. Barlow, known for his acclaimed narrative titles Telling Lies and Immortality, brings substantial industry credibility to Kinetic’s inaugural slate.
Beyond Barlow’s title, the five games span a range of styles, including a horror title positioned as particularly significant, a punky racing game featuring witches on broomsticks, a tense Papers Please-inspired experience set in space, a cozy game drawing inspiration from Spiritfader, and a metroidvania title with an innovative mechanic. The move into publishing comes after Phasmophobia’s sustained commercial success since its COVID-era surge in popularity, indicating the four-player ghost-hunting game has generated sufficient revenue to support the studio’s expansion efforts.
