UKIE-backed Digital Schoolhouse partners with Roblox to provide suite of tools for students to develop Roblox games in-class

Digital Schoolhouse, a UK-based educational non-profit backed by UKIE (UK Interactive Entertainment), has partnered with Roblox to launch a suite of free educational tools designed to teach students how to create games on the Roblox platform. The initiative aims to integrate game development into classroom curricula.

As part of the partnership, students will gain access to curriculum-aligned workshops and learning resources, with the centerpiece being interactive Roblox Studio lesson plans that guide them through the game creation process. The educational platform uses a closed, teacher-supervised environment specifically designed for classroom use, ensuring appropriate oversight and safety.

Recognizing the digital divide in schools, the partnership includes an offline version of the tools for educational institutions without reliable internet connectivity or modern computing devices. This approach broadens access to game development education across diverse school settings.

The closed-environment approach in classrooms means that student activities are monitored and managed by teachers, providing a controlled space for hands-on learning in game design, programming logic, and creative problem-solving—skills increasingly recognized as valuable in modern education. This partnership represents an effort to democratize access to game development education and introduce young people to careers in the gaming industry through practical, classroom-based learning experiences.
