Major Escape from Tarkov Expansion Delayed Before Getting a Date
Escape from Tarkov reached a major milestone in November 2025 when it officially launched out of early access as a 1.0 title, concluding nearly a decade of development. However, the game’s journey is far from over, with developer Battle State Games planning an ambitious roadmap of expansions and post-launch content.
The studio has announced plans for multiple DLC drops, with the first expansion titled “Scav Life” and a second focused on an in-game clan system. While specific details about these expansions remain unconfirmed, the developer has begun introducing their existence to the community through various announcements.
During a recent episode of Tarkov TV, Nikita Buyanov, head of Battle State Games, revealed that the planned release dates for these expansions have been pushed back. The announcement marks the first official delay communicated to players regarding the post-launch content roadmap, though the studio has not yet provided new target dates or disclosed reasons for the postponement.
The delay reflects the complexity of development work involved in creating substantial expansions for the intricate tactical shooter. With Tarkov’s transition to 1.0 status complete, the studio’s focus now shifts to expanding the game’s content and features through these major DLC releases, though players will have to wait longer than originally anticipated.
