Xbox Elite Series 3 controller leaks again, this time on Reddit
The Xbox Elite Series 3 controller has leaked publicly for the second time, following an initial appearance through a Brazilian telecommunications regulator in May 2026. On August 11, a Reddit user posted images of what appears to be a prototype device in the /r/Controller subreddit, claiming they purchased it from OfferUp, an online reseller marketplace. The post was subsequently deleted, reportedly following a cease-and-desist order from Microsoft, though images were preserved and shared widely by The Verge’s Tom Warren.
The leaked photos reveal several design changes compared to the current Elite Series 2 controller. The new model features a redesigned circular eight-way d-pad, a new profile button positioned between the Start and Select buttons, and revamped grips with a more curved path along the front of the controller. Most notably, an LED display is visible at the top of the device, partially obscured in the photos but apparently displaying a web address—possibly for device pairing or configuration.
Both leaks appear to show the same prototype, suggesting these represent an actual pre-release version. The repeated leaks indicate growing public interest in Microsoft’s next-generation premium controller, though the company has made no official announcement regarding the Elite Series 3’s specifications, pricing, or release timeline.
