‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ Is Getting a New Strategy Board Game
Sarah J. Maas’ massively popular romantasy series A Court of Thorns and Roses is expanding into the tabletop gaming space with a new strategy board game. Publisher Goliath Games will release A Court of Thorns and Roses: Fate and Favor this October for $24.99, marking the series’ entry into board gaming following its dominance in publishing and on BookTok.
Rather than simply dressing up an existing board game with ACOTAR imagery, Fate and Favor is designed as an original strategy game with its own mechanics. The game emphasizes strategy and politics as central gameplay elements, aligning with the political intrigue themes that define the book series.
The release will include multiple editions to reach different audiences. Beyond the standard retail version, Goliath Games is partnering with Target for an exclusive edition, while also creating a separate variant for traditional booksellers. This multi-channel distribution strategy reflects the series’ reach across both gaming and publishing audiences.
