Dawn of War 4 Delayed by Almost Three Months For Final Enhancements
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 has been delayed by nearly three months, with the release pushed from mid-September 2026 to December 3, 2026. Developer King Art Games and publisher Deep Silver announced the delay on August 12, 2026, to allow for additional polish and enhancements before launch.
The extra development time will enable the team to refine gameplay mechanics, incorporate player feedback, and eliminate bugs to ensure the best possible experience. Creative director Jan Theysen explained that as the studio approached the final stages of development, they identified opportunities to significantly enhance the game further.
Those who purchase the Commander Edition will receive a three-day early access period, allowing them to begin playing on November 30, 2026—ahead of the standard December 3 release. This premium edition benefit provides dedicated fans with an early start to their experience.
The announcement carries particular significance as it marks a major release for the franchise after nearly a decade since the last mainline Dawn of War title. The extended development window is intended to deliver a polished experience worthy of the long wait, building on the excitement generated by previous gameplay showcases and character trailers.
During the delay period, King Art Games plans to continue sharing additional gameplay footage and updates with the community. The December launch is positioned as a major release for strategy game enthusiasts and Warhammer 40,000 fans.
