After this week’s Elder Scrolls 6 tease, fans think they’ve figured out its full name - and it was hidden in Starfield all along

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma recently shared a cryptic tease about The Elder Scrolls 6, revealing she had watched a live playthrough of the game. She described its “scale and grandeur” as “incredible” with a story that was “even greater,” but redacted the game’s subtitle with eight asterisks, immediately sparking speculation across the gaming community.

Fans proposed numerous subtitle theories, including Dominion, Starfall, Orsinium, and Covenant. However, Sentinel has emerged as the frontrunner theory, particularly because it is the name of a major city in Hammerfell, a province in The Elder Scrolls universe, suggesting the game might be set there.

A compelling fan theory emerged suggesting that Bethesda may have hidden the game’s actual title in Starfield years before the official tease. Players discovered a 16-digit employee ID number in Starfield’s character creation menu: 190514-2009140512. When divided into pairs and converted to letters based on their alphabetical position, this sequence allegedly spells out a message that aligns with the Sentinel speculation.

The discovery has reignited discussion about the long-awaited sequel, with Sentinel standing out as the leading theory due to both the numerical puzzle connection and its thematic fit within Elder Scrolls lore. While Bethesda has not officially confirmed the subtitle, the theory demonstrates the dedication of the franchise’s fanbase in uncovering hidden details across the studio’s releases.
