Everspace 2: Galactic Edition Gets A Surprise Switch 2 Shadow Drop
Everspace 2: Galactic Edition has arrived as a surprise shadow drop on Nintendo Switch 2. The space-based roguelike shooter, which originally launched on PC in 2023, is now available on the hybrid console with a complete package containing the base game and all downloadable content.
Available at £39.99 / $49.99, the Switch 2 port adds to the console’s rapidly expanding library of third-party ports and releases. The original PC version was well-received by critics, earning an 81 Metascore rating on Metacritic. This marks Everspace 2’s first console appearance since its successful PC launch.
The surprise release strategy exemplifies the increasingly common practice of unannounced launches on Nintendo Switch 2, which has seen a steady stream of ports and new releases since the console’s arrival. Rockfish Games’ decision to bundle all DLC with the base game positions the Galactic Edition as a complete collection for players new to the franchise on Nintendo’s hardware.
