LEGO MARVEL Games Paused With Different Warner Bros. IP Favored, It’s Claimed

LEGO MARVEL games are being put on indefinite hiatus as Warner Bros. shifts focus to other intellectual properties for upcoming LEGO titles. According to reports from LEGO news sources, the publisher is pursuing a different major Warner Bros. IP for its next LEGO game rather than continuing the MARVEL franchise.

The last new LEGO MARVEL release was LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 in 2017, with LEGO Marvel Collection arriving in 2019 as a compilation of previous titles. This represents nearly a decade without fresh LEGO MARVEL content. Meanwhile, other LEGO franchises continue to perform well commercially, with LEGO Batman: The Dark Knight delivering a successful 2026 release, demonstrating the sustained appeal of LEGO games overall.

The decision reflects Warner Bros.’ strategic effort to diversify its LEGO game portfolio. While the specific alternative IP hasn’t been confirmed, the publisher has numerous franchise options, including DC properties and other entertainment brands. This pause suggests resources will be reallocated to franchises the publisher believes offer greater strategic value in the near term. LEGO games remain commercially successful, but Warner Bros. appears to be recalibrating its development priorities away from MARVEL titles for the foreseeable future.
