Nautus: Echoes from Below Announced for PC
Magic Design Studios, the developer behind 2022’s well-received Have a Nice Death, has announced its upcoming project, Nautus: Echoes from Below. The game represents a dual-environment exploration experience currently in development for PC.
Nautus features contrasting gameplay across two settings. The surface portion focuses on island exploration with a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. The gameplay shifts significantly when players descend underwater in a customizable and upgradeable submarine, where the tone becomes considerably more mysterious.
The narrative begins when players receive an unsettling radio message from their uncle, prompting them to travel to the remote N.A.U.T.U.S. research station. Upon arrival, they discover the local scientists have mysteriously lost their memories and developed a severe phobia of the ocean. As the only team member brave enough to face the deep, the player must explore the ocean depths to uncover what transpired.
The game supports both solo play and cooperative gameplay for up to four players. This co-op focus adds a collaborative dimension to exploration and mystery-solving, expanding on Magic Design Studios’ established reputation for creative indie experiences.
