It’s Official, Sonic Frontiers Has Now Sold More Than Five Million Copies
Sonic Frontiers has officially crossed the 5 million sales milestone, marking a significant achievement for Sega’s platformer. The game, which originally launched in 2022 across Nintendo Switch and other platforms, continues to perform well in the market. According to Sega’s latest update, the title has grown from 4.57 million units sold in November 2025, demonstrating sustained commercial success and the enduring appeal of the Sonic franchise.
As part of Sonic’s ongoing 35th anniversary celebrations, Sega released Sonic Frontiers - Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June. This enhanced version likely contributed to renewed interest and sales momentum for the game. In recognition of reaching this five-million-copy milestone, Sega is celebrating by offering players a complimentary copy of Sonic Adventure 2, the beloved 2001 classic that remains a fan favorite within the franchise.
The continued success of Sonic Frontiers reflects strong market demand for the character across multiple gaming platforms. The inclusion of an enhanced edition on Nintendo’s latest hardware demonstrates Sega’s commitment to reaching players wherever they game, while the bonus gift of a classic title shows the publisher’s appreciation for community support.
