Battlefield 6 x Top Gun Update Arrives August 18
Battlefield 6 is receiving a major Top Gun: Maverick collaboration update launching August 18. The update brings new content including Wake Island, a classic map return, along with two-seat fighter jets that enable cooperative gameplay. Two new game modes debut with the collaboration: Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep, expanding multiplayer options for players.
The update includes playable characters from the Top Gun franchise, including Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd (Lewis Pullman), and Admiral Solomon “Warlock” Bates (Charles Parnell). Rooster was featured in the promotional trailer released August 13 on YouTube.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone as part of what developer EA DICE is calling the biggest season of Battlefield 6 to date. Coinciding with the August 18 launch, the game will begin an extensive free trial period, aimed at attracting new players to experience the latest content and modes.
