We’ve been tracking graphics card prices for exactly one year and it’s never been worse than this

PC Gamer has completed a year-long price tracking study of graphics cards, revealing significantly challenging market conditions. The tracking initiative began on August 14, 2025, and has continued on a nearly weekly basis throughout the year, providing comprehensive data on GPU pricing trends.

The study employed rigorous methodology, with a dedicated editor tracking the lowest available prices for current-generation graphics cards from the three major manufacturers: Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. To ensure data accuracy and reliability, researchers limited their collection to new, in-box units from established, reputable retailers, excluding refurbished items, open-box sales, and unauthorized vendors.

The findings indicate the past year has been particularly difficult for GPU pricing, with conditions reaching levels worse than any previously observed during the tracking period. The data captures the minimum prices at which these graphics cards were available throughout the year, providing consumers with insight into market trends and pricing pressures affecting the PC gaming hardware market.
