Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls review

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 2D four-versus-four tag fighting game developed by Arc System Works, released on August 6, 2026 for $60. The game features a roster of 20 Marvel heroes and villains that players select to form competing teams. Players can compete online against other players or tackle various single-player modes, with training options available for skill development.

Both reviewers praise the game as an excellent entry in the tag fighter genre. Eurogamer called it “the best tag fighter I’ve played in years,” while noting it distinguishes itself from Marvel vs Capcom despite carrying the Marvel license. PC Gamer similarly praised Arc System Works’ execution, noting the game successfully appealed to reviewers outside its traditional audience—including someone more accustomed to 3D fighters and with minimal interest in superhero games.

However, the PC version has encountered technical performance issues that reviewers noted fell short compared to console versions. Despite this caveat, both outlets recommend the game to fighting game enthusiasts and those seeking an accessible entry point to the tag fighter genre.
