Pokémon Home Adding FireRed & LeafGreen Connectivity
The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Home, the cloud-based storage service for Pokémon games, will gain connectivity with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. This update will arrive with version 4.1.0 of Pokémon Home in October 2026.
The Switch ports of FireRed and LeafGreen launched on February 27, 2026, as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Like most new Pokémon releases, these remakes initially launched without Pokémon Home support, though the feature was expected to arrive through a future update. The addition of connectivity will allow players to transfer Pokémon from FireRed and LeafGreen into their Pokémon Home accounts, providing access to these creatures across the broader Pokémon ecosystem.
Pokémon Home has become a central hub for the franchise, enabling players to manage their Pokémon collections across multiple games and generations. The delayed addition of connectivity for FireRed and LeafGreen follows the typical pattern for Pokémon releases, where Home integration is frequently added through system updates rather than at launch.
