Come September, you won’t need a single Total War: Warhammer game to play its colossal, trilogy-spanning Immortal Empires campaign
Total War: Warhammer 3’s “Lords of the End Times” expansion will launch on September 24, introducing four new legendary lords: Nagash leading undead legions, Boris Todbringer of Middenland, the Glottkin commanding Nurgle forces, and Grey Seer Thanquol with his giant rat-ogre mount Boneripper. Creative Assembly has billed this as “the biggest DLC ever released in the series’ 10-year history,” packed with distinct retinues, campaign mechanics, and battle map abilities for each lord.
Accompanying the paid expansion, a substantial free update will arrive simultaneously, featuring the Vampire Queen Neferata as an additional legendary lord, alongside comprehensive reworks for the Vampire Counts faction and Archaon the Everchosen. The update also introduces new endgame scenarios and revised victory conditions.
A significant change is coming to the Immortal Empires campaign—starting in September, players will no longer need to own any of the three Total War: Warhammer games to access this trilogy-spanning campaign. Ownership of just one Lords of the End Times character DLC will grant access to the entire Immortal Empires experience. With over 100 legendary lords already in Warhammer 3, this content drop substantially expands the already extensive roster of playable characters and factions.
