ARK: Survival Evolved Sunsets Official Switch Servers This Month
Studio Wildcard has announced that official server support for Nintendo Switch versions of ARK: Survival Evolved will be discontinued at the end of August 2026. The shutdown affects both the original ARK: Survival Evolved port for Switch and ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition, the rebuilt Switch remaster developed by Grove Street Games and released in 2022.
The developer shared this news through a community update on the game’s official message boards, expressing gratitude to all players who have been part of the game’s community on the platform. While official server support will cease, the games themselves may remain playable in offline modes where those features are available.
This server shutdown is a common occurrence in live-service game management, as developers consolidate resources and shift focus based on player distribution across different platforms. The end of Switch server support reflects broader industry trends in managing legacy versions and regional servers as player populations evolve.
