Mistfall Hunter Players Are Begging For This One Addition, And The Devs Just Won’t Do It
Mistfall Hunter, Bellring Games’ extraction brawler released on July 29, has been available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for nearly three weeks. Since the game’s open beta, the player community has consistently requested one feature: a dedicated duos mode.
Currently, Mistfall Hunter supports only trio-based matchmaking. This design choice has proven frustrating for players who prefer to play in pairs, creating what many perceive as an unfair competitive environment. In trio-only matches, two-player teams frequently find themselves at a significant disadvantage, with players reporting that team members often get isolated and overwhelmed.
The subreddit community has been vocal about this limitation. In an August 11 post, player broman510 wrote, “I need duos,” elaborating that “duos vs trios seems so hard and almost impossible; most of the time [one] of us is getting jumped by 2 and poked down by one.” This sentiment has been echoed repeatedly, with additional posts like Matta114’s on August 17 stating “We need duos.”
Despite the persistent and widespread community feedback dating back to the open beta period, Bellring Games has declined to implement the requested feature. This developer stance has frustrated players who feel their concerns are being dismissed. The ongoing disconnect between community demand and developer decision represents a notable point of friction for the player base.
As an extraction brawler reliant on community engagement for long-term success, the refusal to add duos mode has become a source of contention. Whether Bellring Games will eventually reconsider its position remains unclear.
