For the first time ever in a Call of Duty beta, the Modern Warfare 4 beta includes a campaign mission
Activision has announced unprecedented content for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta, marking a historic first for the franchise. For the first time in Call of Duty beta history, players will have access to a full campaign mission alongside multiplayer content.
The beta’s first weekend runs April 21-25 and is available to those who preorder the game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The featured campaign mission is titled “Entrenched,” which Activision recently showcased in promotional materials. This represents a significant departure from the publisher’s typical pre-launch strategy, as single-player content has traditionally remained hidden until launch to preserve the story experience.
Beyond the campaign content, the beta includes multiplayer maps, notably Kill Block—described as the franchise’s most ambitious map to date. Kill Block combines multiple fan-favorite Call of Duty maps into a single dynamic environment set at the fictional West Bridge Advanced Military Training facility, designed to keep players strategically engaged throughout matches.
The beta serves as the first major opportunity for players to experience Modern Warfare 4 before the full game’s October release. By including campaign content during the testing phase, Activision is giving players an unprecedented glimpse into the single-player experience and signals the company’s confidence in both the campaign’s quality and their desire for early player feedback.
