Phantom Blade Zero State Of Play—Start Time, Date & How To Watch
Phantom Blade Zero, an action RPG in development by S-GAME Studio, received its own dedicated PlayStation State of Play presentation, a showcase typically reserved for major industry releases. The 20-minute segment provided substantial gameplay footage of the stylish wuxia action title as it approaches its October launch.
The presentation marked the first significant reveal of Phantom Blade Zero’s game world, which had been largely kept secret during development. The game features eight interconnected maps designed as “authentic hand-painted Chinese ink wash maps” that seamlessly connect into a single unified world. The design is positioned neither as a linear action game nor a traditional open-world RPG, but rather as a middle ground with substantial exploration opportunities.
According to developer demonstrations shared during the State of Play, players will encounter numerous optional content elements, including boss encounters and diversions from the main story path. This structural approach allows for significant optional gameplay without compromising narrative progression.
The State of Play broadcast also generated anticipation around a potential PS5 demo. Prior to the presentation, a playable demo was reported to have appeared on the PlayStation Store, leading many to expect an official announcement during the showcase. However, the demo was not mentioned during the presentation, disappointing those who anticipated its release.
