Pokémon Pokopia Player Discovers Trick to Get Missing Event Pokémon
A Pokémon Pokopia player has discovered that changing a Nintendo Switch 2’s system date and time allows access to event-exclusive Pokémon that would otherwise be permanently unavailable. Since the game’s March 2026 launch, multiple timed events have introduced limited Pokémon—including the Hoppip evolution line, Sableye, Jirachi, and the currently active Feebas and Milotic—that become inaccessible once their event windows close. Players who miss these windows or start playing after events conclude cannot legitimately obtain these Pokémon through normal gameplay.
The discovered workaround, known as “time traveling,” sidesteps the game’s intended mechanics by syncing the console’s clock to match when events originally occurred. While this technique technically constitutes cheating, it carries no practical consequences for other players since Pokémon Pokopia is a single-player experience. The discovery highlights a persistent accessibility challenge in live-service games: players with scheduling constraints or those joining after launch may find core content permanently locked behind expired event windows, raising questions about long-term content availability and fairness within the playerbase.
