The next Binding of Isaac game is going up against Grand Theft Auto 6

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance + Online is launching on November 19th on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, marking the same release date as Grand Theft Auto 6. This release package bundles The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth with all previously released downloadable content, including the Afterbirth, Afterbirth+, Repentance, and Repentance+ expansions.

The online functionality has been in beta testing on PC since 2024, enabling up to four players to participate in cooperative runs through both Friend Match mode and public matchmaking systems. This console edition officially brings the complete online experience to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms for the first time.

The timing of this release alongside the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 represents an unusual scheduling decision for a roguelike indie title, as major publishers typically avoid direct competition with blockbuster releases. The simultaneous launch underscores both games’ confidence in their respective player bases and the diverse gaming market that can support multiple significant releases on the same day.
