Third seemingly real GTA 6 video leaks as Rockstar scrambles to remove footage from the internet

On August 18, 2026, multiple videos of seemingly legitimate Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaked online, accompanied by an alleged map image. The leaks were claimed by a group calling itself CYBERLEEK, whose watermarked videos showed protagonist Jason engaging in various activities across Vice City, including combat encounters, driving sequences, tasers, and interactions like basketball and key cloning.

The leaked footage displays previously unseen gameplay systems including a six-star Wanted gauge, stamina meter, and melee combat mechanics. Take-Two Interactive’s aggressive deployment of DMCA takedown notices confirmed the leaks’ apparent authenticity. However, metadata analysis suggests much of the footage originates from 2023, though some clips contain music from January 2025, indicating at least one video may be more recent.

CYBERLEEK published a manifesto framing their leak as a protest against perceived anti-consumer practices by Rockstar and Take-Two, specifically targeting the game’s digital-only distribution model and paid character customization in the $100 Ultimate Edition. The group announced further leaks and began monetizing the campaign through a cryptocurrency token ("$CYBERLEEK") enabling paid community votes on which additional gameplay to release.

The Stop Killing Games consumer advocacy movement publicly distanced itself from CYBERLEEK despite shared anti-consumer concerns, condemning the use of illegal methods and noting the leaked videos contained memecoin advertisements. The leaks occurred one week before Rockstar’s planned Netflix gameplay reveal and approximately three months ahead of the game’s November 19, 2026 release date.
