July’s top mobile game downloads: Roblox, Free Fire, Arrows, Block Blast, Soccer Superstar, more
Roblox dominated July’s mobile game downloads, capturing approximately 23 million installs as summer school breaks drove engagement in its major markets. The user-generated content platform achieved installation rates comparable to the December holiday season, though performance remained below the spectacular peaks seen in previous Julys and Augusts. The platform’s seasonal strength reflects its appeal to younger demographics, particularly during school vacations. Beyond Roblox, other significant downloaders included Free Fire, Arrows, Block Blast, and Soccer Superstar, indicating continued diversity in mobile gaming preferences.
On the revenue front, Honor of Kings reclaimed the top position for in-app purchase earnings with over $150 million in July revenue—marking a return to normal performance after notable fluctuations in March, April, and June. The game has historically experienced substantial month-to-month IAP revenue variations. Alongside Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, Pokémon Go, and Gossip Harbor ranked among the month’s top earners, demonstrating the continued dominance of established franchises in mobile monetization.
The Appmagic data excludes China’s fragmented Android market, ad revenue, web shop purchases, and platform commission cuts, meaning actual revenue figures are considerably higher. This geographic and metric-based limitation highlights the market’s complexity, with Western markets driving download volume while Asian-developed titles command in-app spending, reflecting the global diversity of mobile gaming audiences.
