LFL Set to Have New Organisers Next Year With Talks Ongoing
The League of Legends French League (LFL) will transition to new management in 2027 as Webedia steps down from its role as tournament organizer, a position it has held since the league’s founding in 2019. According to reports, esports agency N.E.O has entered negotiations with Riot Games to assume control of the competition, marking a significant shift in the league’s leadership structure.
The transition reflects recent organizational changes within the esports industry. Bertrand Amar, who previously served as Webedia’s Head of Esports, departed the company in December to co-found N.E.O alongside fellow former Webedia executive Matthieu Dallon. The move brings key industry figures with established experience in running esports operations into direct control of one of EMEA’s most prominent Tier-2 leagues.
Beyond the LFL transition, N.E.O has already begun expanding its esports portfolio. The organization successfully launched the second season of League of Legends Game Changers Rising, demonstrating its capability to manage competitive gaming events. These developments underscore N.E.O’s positioning as an active player in the esports ecosystem, while the LFL’s organizational change represents a broader shift in how regional competitive leagues operate within the League of Legends circuit.
