Human: Fall Flat veterans launch new UK studio Pretty Cool Games

Two veteran developers from Human: Fall Flat have established Pretty Cool Games, a new independent game studio based in the UK with a fully remote team. Sitara Shefta, who served as CEO and studio director at No Brakes Games Tenerife and previously worked on titles including LittleBigPlanet 3, Dead Island 2, and Disney Infinity, will lead the studio as CEO. Will Dudley, an original team member on Human: Fall Flat with prior experience at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Lionhead Studios, serves as chief creative officer.

The studio has already attracted investor interest and secured financing for its debut project. According to reports, developer Hypergraph—known for Arknights—has provided funding for the venture. The founders aim to build what they describe as a “small but mighty team” while establishing a studio culture that prioritizes fair treatment and rewards employees for their contributions to the company’s success.

The debut title is described as a double-A sandbox game drawing inspiration from the physical comedy of films like The Pink Panther. This creative direction represents a departure from the puzzle-platformer gameplay that defined Human: Fall Flat, suggesting the studio’s commitment to exploring new concepts and genres.

Pretty Cool Games is currently hiring for its remote team. Shefta has also become more prominent in industry leadership, having recently been elected to the TIGA Board of Directors and serving on the BAFTA Games Committee. The studio’s launch reflects ongoing trends of veteran developers establishing independent ventures with fresh creative visions and sustainable business models.
