RuneScape: Dragonwilds Confirmed for Day One Xbox Game Pass Launch

RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Jagex’s first standalone title in the long-running RuneScape franchise, has been confirmed as a day-one launch for Xbox Game Pass on September 15th. This marks a historic milestone—the first RuneScape game ever to release on console platforms.

The open-world, co-op survival and crafting game invites players to explore the previously undiscovered continent of Ashenfall, either solo or in teams of up to four. The game’s setting is driven by untamed, transformative magic that flows through the anima-rich landscape, offering players powerful spells and resources to aid their survival and exploration.

Despite launching on Xbox in September, the game’s inclusion as a day-one Game Pass title is noteworthy given its pre-launch success: RuneScape: Dragonwilds has already sold over 1 million copies during its year-long early access period on PC. The full 1.0 release on September 15th marks the transition from early access to official launch status.

This represents a significant expansion for the RuneScape franchise, which has remained primarily a PC-based experience since its inception. Bringing the series to Xbox through Game Pass could introduce the medieval MMORPG world to a broader console audience.
