Netflix Confirms Blue Eye Samurai Will End With Third and Final Season

Netflix has announced that Blue Eye Samurai, its stylish animated revenge thriller, will conclude with a third and final season. The announcement was made at Anime NYC on August 20, bringing closure to the long-awaited continuation of the series.

The show’s second season is set to premiere in January 2027, nearly three years after the original season launched in November 2023. Netflix released a 90-second teaser for the upcoming season at the event, offering glimpses of new story developments.

Blue Eye Samurai follows Mizu (Maya Erskine), who seeks revenge against her father. In Season 1’s finale, the arms dealer Abijah Fowler (Kenneth Branagh) convinces Mizu to abandon her immediate vengeance by offering to help her travel to London to track down two surviving white men who could be her father. The Season 2 teaser suggests their journey encounters complications, with the ship they’re traveling on facing turbulent conditions during their voyage.

With Season 3 confirmed as the final installment, the series is expected to provide a definitive conclusion to Mizu’s dramatic journey and revenge arc. The announcement gives fans clarity on the show’s endpoint while they await Season 2’s arrival in early 2027.
