Postal 2 Redux Funded, Confirmed for Q1 2027 Launch on PC, PS4, PS5, and VR
Postal 2 Redux, a complete Unity 6 rebuild of the controversial 2003 first-person shooter, has achieved full funding and secured a Q1 2027 release date. The project was backed by a Kickstarter campaign that reached its funding goal in just one day, developed collaboratively by original studio Running With Scissors, alongside Flat2VR, Team Beef, and Impact Reality.
The sandbox-style game returns players to the fictional town of Paradise, Arizona as the Postal Dude, an everyman protagonist simply trying to complete mundane daily errands. As expected from the franchise, these ordinary tasks inevitably escalate into absurd situations and unexpected chaos. The Redux version maintains the original’s core sandbox philosophy while leveraging modern development tools and technology to rebuild the experience.
Redux will launch across multiple platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and VR environments, making the cult classic accessible to contemporary gaming hardware and audiences. The remarkably swift Kickstarter success—funding achieved within a single day—demonstrates enduring interest in the franchise among both longtime fans and potential new players, setting expectations for a significant return of the Postal 2 franchise after approximately two decades away from releases.
