Ms. Marvel Is Returning for Official Avengers: Doomsday Release Coming Aug. 27

Marvel and Disney are launching a major promotional campaign for Avengers: Doomsday, the upcoming film arriving in approximately four months and the first Avengers ensemble movie in seven years.

The multi-platform campaign spans several entertainment mediums. An official watchlist of Marvel movies—beginning with 2000’s X-Men and concluding with 2025’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps—guides audiences through decades of interconnected storylines leading into the new film. Marvel is integrating Doctor Doom into Marvel video games, ensuring the primary antagonist’s presence across multiple entertainment platforms. The comics division is revisiting the narrative precursor to 2015’s Secret Wars event, which Avengers: Doomsday draws inspiration from.

Marvel is launching the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast on August 27, 2026, providing promotional content through the film’s December release.

The strategy reflects Marvel’s integrated approach to building audience engagement across interconnected media properties—film, comics, gaming, and podcasts. By coordinating promotional activities across these platforms and drawing on established comic book storylines and new media tie-ins, Marvel Studios and Disney are positioning Avengers: Doomsday as a significant entertainment event, capitalizing on seven years since the last Avengers ensemble film.
