GTA 6 Leaker Has Not Been Identified Yet – Report
Rockstar Games has not identified the party responsible for recent Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaks, according to reports. An anonymous individual or group operating under the name “CYBERLEEK” has been distributing leaked GTA 6 gameplay clips daily, with the leaks apparently designed to promote a memecoin for profit.
Despite the breach, Rockstar leadership is maintaining its current course. A top executive at the studio sent a memo to staff this week condemning the leaker and reaffirming confidence in the team’s work. The company is not planning to delay its official GTA 6 gameplay reveal, which remains scheduled for Netflix on August 27, nor will it change its broader marketing strategy.
Internally, however, the situation has created frustration among Rockstar employees. Staff are reportedly feeling angry that the leak occurred despite increasingly strict security measures implemented following a 2022 breach that had previously compromised GTA 6 materials. Those measures included eliminating remote work arrangements, yet another major breach has still managed to occur. Rockstar’s investigation remains ongoing and is being treated as an “all hands on deck” situation, though the studio has yet to determine how the breach was accomplished. The leaker appears to have access to a GTA 6 build, though whether it represents the full game or only a portion remains unclear.
