Hajin Arrives In Warzone & Modern Warfare 4 Season 1

Activision has officially announced Hajin as the next Battle Royale map coming to Call of Duty: Warzone, launching alongside Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4. The new location will serve dual purposes, functioning as both a traditional Battle Royale environment in Warzone and as the setting for DMZ, the extraction-based mode making its return to the franchise.

Hajin is described as a sprawling and densely packed exclusion zone situated across the Korean Peninsula. While both Warzone and DMZ will utilize the same geographical setting, the gameplay experience is expected to differ significantly between the two modes. In DMZ, players will infiltrate the zone, search for valuable loot, and attempt to extract safely—core mechanics of the extraction-based gameplay loop. Warzone will transform this same environment into a traditional Battle Royale map, where players compete in a shrinking arena until one team remains victorious.

The announcement marks a significant update for Warzone, introducing new environmental variety to the game’s map rotation. The Korean Peninsula setting represents a fresh departure from previous map aesthetics and offers new strategic possibilities for players. The dense, sprawling nature of Hajin suggests complex terrain and multiple points of interest for looting and combat engagement.

The simultaneous arrival of Hajin across both Warzone and DMZ demonstrates Activision’s integrated approach to content deployment in Modern Warfare 4’s ecosystem. Season 1 appears positioned as a major content drop, introducing not only new maps but potentially new weapons, operators, and balance changes that typically accompany seasonal updates in Call of Duty titles.
