Mortal Shell 2’s Latest Update Alleviates One Of The Game’s Biggest Headaches

Developer Cold Symmetry released Mortal Shell 2, a souls-like action-RPG, on August 20, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Within hours of launch, the studio rolled out Balance Patch 1, addressing several issues including the game’s gold farming mechanics—a problem players found particularly frustrating. The patch notably includes refunds for Glimpses, a rare in-game currency used to bond with shells and unlock their memories. Players who had previously spent Glimpses discovering shell locations will receive refunds for their expenditure. Cold Symmetry shared detailed patch notes on both the game’s subreddit and Steam Community page, demonstrating a rapid response to player feedback in the immediate aftermath of launch.
