Is this the end of the GTA 6 leaks? Take-Two’s legal crusade appears to shut down the hubs behind them

A leaker or group operating under the name CyberLeek has released multiple gameplay videos for Grand Theft Auto 6, beginning around August 18, 2026. The leaked footage—comprising seven to eight videos by August 22—showcases various gameplay elements including vehicle mechanics, refueling systems, a six-star wanted system, portions of the game’s map, gas station sequences, and brief glimpses of strip club content. The leaker has been receiving cryptocurrency donations and has publicly threatened to release a complete playable build of the game to millions of users globally if Rockstar Games ceases legal action against them.

In response, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, has launched an aggressive legal campaign. The publisher filed subpoenas with Microsoft and Discord seeking identifying information about the CyberLeek persona, with both companies required to provide account data by September 4, 2026. These efforts appear to have yielded early results: by August 22, the CyberLeek website and Telegram channel had gone offline, with the Telegram displaying a copyright infringement notice.

The leaked footage reportedly originates from an earlier build of GTA 6, potentially from 2024 or earlier. While no major story spoilers have emerged to date, Rockstar developers are reportedly concerned about the leaker’s potential access to sensitive narrative content. The situation unfolds just days before Rockstar’s planned Extended Look presentation on Netflix scheduled for August 27, 2026, and nearly three months before GTA 6’s release on November 19, 2026.
