Arc Raiders’ fifth Expedition will be its last until early 2027
Embark Studios has announced that Arc Raiders’ fifth Expedition, launching next month, will be the last seasonal update for the free-to-play co-op shooter until early 2027. The studio plans to pause the Expedition system to address persistent player concerns.
In a blog post, Embark acknowledged feedback from the community regarding several structural issues with Expeditions. These include tight departure windows that limit player flexibility, reward structures that players have criticized, and accessibility barriers for newcomers. Rather than implementing incremental improvements, the studio determined that these problems require more comprehensive overhauls to properly address.
By pausing Expeditions after the fifth iteration, Embark aims to take the development time needed to redesign core systems around these feedback points. The studio plans to return with a significantly improved Expedition system when updates resume in early 2027.
