Mewgenics’ Xbox Port Is Coming Sooner Than Expected, Store Leak Suggests

Mewgenics, the successful PC roguelike from creator Edmund McMillen, is heading to Xbox Series X sooner than officially announced. A premature Xbox store listing revealed a September 8 release date for the console port, which was subsequently removed from the storefront. The leaked listing also confirmed that the Xbox version will include 53 achievements for players to unlock.

Published by Nicalis, Mewgenics has been a major hit since its PC launch earlier in 2026. The Xbox port represents the first confirmed console version of the game, expanding its reach beyond the PC ecosystem where it initially found success.

While the leak provided concrete details, official confirmation of the release date is expected soon. Edmund McMillen, the game’s creator, previously teased an announcement related to Mewgenics at Gamescom Opening Night Live, which could serve as the formal platform for revealing the Xbox launch date and potentially announcing additional console versions.
