Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: SimCity (SNES)
Nintendo Life’s Box Art Brawl feature returns for another week, this time focusing on the regional box art variants of SimCity for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The recurring series invites readers to vote on their preferred cover design from different territories worldwide.
Box Art Brawl is a recurring poll-based feature that celebrates the artistic differences between regional releases of classic games. The previous week’s poll compared WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii across three regional designs, with Europe’s yellow cover winning decisively at 52% of the vote. North America’s pink design came in second with 32% support, while Japan’s orange variant received 16%.
This week’s focus on SimCity for SNES continues the series’ exploration of how Nintendo and its publishing partners adapted game packaging aesthetics for different markets, reflecting distinct design philosophies across the 16-bit era.
