Alien Breed Returns Next Month with Massive PS5 Compilation, Complete with Horde Mode
Team 17’s classic sci-fi shooter Alien Breed is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a major return to PlayStation 5 this September. The publisher is releasing a comprehensive compilation featuring every game from the franchise’s first era, including all Alien Breed 3D titles, presented in an expansive package comparable to Digital Eclipse’s acclaimed retrospective bundles.
Beyond the core games, the compilation will feature a new Horde Mode, providing fresh content alongside the classic titles. Additional materials including gallery content, developer interviews, and artwork will round out the release, offering fans both nostalgia and new insights into the series’ development and legacy.
Alien Breed debuted in 1991 and established itself as a notable entry in the action and sci-fi shooter genres. This anniversary compilation represents Team 17’s commitment to game preservation while introducing the franchise to contemporary audiences through modern hardware. The release comes as retro compilations continue to gain momentum in the industry, with publishers recognizing the value in preserving and celebrating classic gaming properties for new and nostalgic players alike.
