The Blood of Dawnwalker is getting a 60fps mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X, after all

The Blood of Dawnwalker, the upcoming action RPG from developer Rebel Wolves, will include a 60fps Performance Mode on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X after all, arriving as a day-one patch when the game launches on September 3, 2026.

The announcement comes after significant player backlash to Rebel Wolves’ initial console performance targets. Last week, the developer shared footage showing only a 30fps Quality Mode and a 40fps Balanced Mode, both at dynamic 4K resolution. The absence of a 60fps option drew considerable criticism from the gaming community, particularly given the capabilities of current-generation hardware.

Rebel Wolves explained that a Performance Mode had been in development and testing but wasn’t ready to be promised at the time of the initial announcement. “It was clear how much this mattered to many of you,” the studio wrote on social media. “Performance mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet.”

The developer said player feedback prompted them to prioritize completing the remaining performance tests. Positive results from this additional testing gave the team confidence to officially confirm the 60fps mode for launch day. The Blood of Dawnwalker will remain available on PC, where 60fps gameplay was already supported pending hardware capabilities.
