‘GTA 6’ Leaks Take Dire Turn As Hackers Urge Fans To Harass Rockstar IRL

Grand Theft Auto 6 has become the subject of unprecedented leaks originating from a hacking group identified as Cyberleek. Nearly a week into the ongoing breach, neither Rockstar Games nor publisher Take-Two Interactive has found an effective response to stem the flow of stolen content.

Take-Two has pursued traditional legal remedies, issuing DMCA takedown notices to prevent the leaked material from spreading further online. However, these efforts have proven largely ineffective due to how Cyberleek is distributing the data. The hackers are utilizing Arweave, a decentralized storage protocol that maintains information permanently across distributed networks, making conventional copyright enforcement mechanisms ineffective.

Remaining anonymous despite Take-Two’s efforts to identify them, the hacking group has grown increasingly emboldened by their anonymity and leverage over the publisher. In a dangerous escalation beyond typical game industry breaches, Cyberleek has begun actively encouraging community members to harass Rockstar employees and staff in real-world settings. This shift from purely digital distribution to inciting offline harassment represents an unprecedented crisis for the game industry and poses genuine safety concerns for those involved.
